Kingsport School Newspaper Receives National Award

A Kingsport Middle School’s, school newspaper has been named the nation’s top middle school publication for a second time. The John Sevier Middle School’s Sequoyah Scribe received the award recently and was the only middle school in the country to achieve the honor. The school was named the National 2019 Newspaper Pacemaker Award Winner by the National Scholastic Press Association. The award recognizes excellence in key areas including coverage, writing, editing, design and photography. John Sevier also won the award in 2014.
