Greene County judge sees inmate jump out courthouse window, aids officers in capture
A Greene County, Tennessee inmate got four minutes of freedom Monday. He would have gotten more if Circuit Court Judge Alex Pearson had not seen his jump from a second-story courthouse window.
According to a report from Sheriff Wesley Holt, the judge spotted Daniel Vernon Harley, 42, who was there for arraignment on drug charges. The judge trailed Harley to Reaves Alley where he was arrested by courthouse security. The sheriff thanked the officers for a quick response and the judge for going beyond the call of his duty.
Harley now has an escape charge to be added to his three drug charges and one probation violation, the report said.
