Food City Donates Cargo Van For Feeding America Southwest Virginia

Feeding American Southwest Virginia will now be able to significantly increasing its delivery capacity thanks to the generosity of Food City in Abingdon. The grocery store chain has donated 25 thousand dollars to the agency for the purchase of a new cargo van. The van will be used to transport fresh meals and snacks to area children who are at risk of hunger. Feeding America Southwest Virginia works with approximately 15 different program sites to offer after school and summer feeding meals and snacks. The new van will allow the agency to double their capacity to serve children in need in the southwest Virginia region
