Man arrested in April Officer-Involved Shooting in Kingsport pleas guilty to all charges
A Kingsport man arrested following an officer-involved shooting in April has pled guilty to all charges.
According to the Sullivan County Court Clerk’s Office, Andrew Witt appeared in court Tuesday and pled guilty to aggravated assault and domestic assault. A judge gave him five years probation. The charges stemmed from an incident in the early hours of April 17th, where Kingsport police responded to a domestic dispute, and when they made contact with Witt, he charged at them with a knife, causing two of the responding officers to fire shots at the man.
The TBI was called into investigate following the incident.
