TVA report: Tennessee River basin receives second-largest rainfall ever in 2019
Rain gauges overflowed with record precipitation in 2019 along the Tennessee River basin, according to the Tennessee Valley Authority.
The system that also includes the Clinch and Holston rivers received 66.47 inches of rain last year—the second most on record and 15 inches above normal based on TVA data. A river forecast official with the agency said above-normal rainfall is expected for the next three months.
