UPDATE: Suspect in New Years Day stabbing charged with attempted murder

A suspect in a Carter County, Tennessee home invasion has been released from the hospital and placed in jail after being formally charged.

Justin Todd Williams, 36, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, especially aggravated burglary and two counts of reckless endangerment following the New Years Day incident on Blue Springs Road. Police said the homeowner was able to subdue Williams after being stabbed and keep him in the home until officers arrived.

Williams was issued a $75,000 bond.
