Kingpsort Hires Two Additional Support Personnel To Address City’s Homeless Population
In 2019, the City of Kingsport reported approximately 150 individuals in the city were experiencing homelessness. Since then, city officials received an increasing number of safety related complaints from downtown businesses and neighborhood centers. Now, the city along with the United Way of Greater Kingsport are taking a proactive approach to address the issue with the hiring of two additional support personnel. Jonathan Anderson will now head the Agency’s newly formed Homeless Services Liason and Erin Gray has been named as the Kingsport Police Department’s Homeless Outreach Worker. Both Anderson and Gray will be working face to face with the homeless in the Kingsport area.
