Bluff City Bomb Threat Confirmed as False Alarm

Police in Bluff City called in the Kingsport Bomb Squad Tuesday to investigate a suspicious item on a trash truck. Workers for the sanitation department reportedly told police that they saw what appeared to be a “pipe bomb” inside the back of the truck. The bomb squad did investigate and determine the device not to be a pipe bomb, but instead a homemade sensor device made from PVC pipe and wire. A portion of Lakeview Drive was blocked off during the investigation.
