VSP investigating fatal Friday afternoon crash in Wise County, VA

An investigation is underway in Wise County, VA following a fatal crash Friday afternoon.

A State Police report says 80-year old Hazel Mullins was traveling west on Route 58A in a 2008 Chevy Cobalt, when it ran off the left side of the road, overcorrected, then came back across and ran off the right side of the road. It continued over the guardrail, overturned several times, and struck a tree.

Mullins died at the scene.
