Clinch Valley Community Action Receives Federal Money To Expand Services
A program in southwest Virginia that engages volunteers to use their skills and experience to tackle a diverse range of activities is receiving more than 150 thousand dollars to expand its services. Tazewell County’s Clinch Valley Community Action Incorporated is receiving the funds from the Corporation for National and Community Service. The program, one of the largest volunteer networks for people 55 and over recruit and manage other volunteers, mentor and tutor disadvantaged children, responds to natural disasters, support workforce development as well as other services. Clinch Valley Community Action has more than 200 volunteers and is located in North Tazewell.
