Hawkins Man Charged With Scott County Murder Has Hearing Set

A preliminary hearing has been set for a Hawkins County man charged with killing a Scott County Virginia man last week. John Martin Jr, was initially charged with kidnapping after holding his wife against her will in their Hawkins County home. When deputies arrived, Martin Jr, surrendered and gave investigators information leading them to Cameron Church Road in the Yuma community. There they found the body of 20 year old James Pierce. Investigators believe the murder was a result of a love triangle…Martin Jr, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 16th.
