Ballad Health Announces Rapid Test Now Available For COVID-19

Rapid testing for the Coronavirus is now available in the region. Ballad Health officials on Wednesday said the health care provider is among the first healthcare systems in the nation to offer the tests for COVID-19 and will provide patients with results in five to seven hours compared to five to seven days. Officials with Ballad say they will now be able to process approximately 50 tests per day. Diagnostic company Cepheid, received approval from the FDA and as many as 400 rapid tests will be given each day within the next few weeks.
