Virginia’s New Clean Economy Act Could Generate Thousands Of New Jobs, When Health Crisis Ends
While the Coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc on the region and the rest of the country’s workforce, a Bill signed by Virginia Govenor Ralph Northam could put tens of thousands of Virginians back to work. Northam signed the Virginia Clean Economy Act and will put the Commonwealth on the path to economic recovery and healthy communities. With the Governors signature, the new law makes the Commonwealth the first among Southern States to set a goal of 100 percent low cost and efficient clean energy by 2045. The Governor in a press release says more than 100 thousand Virginians were working in the fast growing clean energy sector and once the immediate health crisis has been addressed and citizens can get back to work, leaders expect the new legislation will help Virginia’s economic recovery.
