UVA Robot Helping To Sterilize Much Sought After PPE
A robot called Tru-D is allowing UVA Health to reuse much sought after Personal Protective Equipment in their battle to stop the Coronavirus, COVID-19. The five foot six inch robot uses ultraviolet germicidal irradiation to disinfect porous and non porous surfaces without toxic chemicals. Tru-D is now ready to disinfect up to six thousand N-95 masks per day. UVA health says it will continue to do all it can to ensure every person in its facilities are safe and protected. The cutting edge technology is being used thanks to the quick work of UVA’s health team who trained staff and prepared TRU-D in less than a week.
