NWS Morristown: Nearly 8 inches of rain fell in the Tri-Cities in April
A new rainfall record has been set for the Tri-Cities for the month of April.
The NWS in Morristown reports the Tri-Cities Airport has received 7.51 inches of rain through April 29, breaking a 22 year record of 7.03 inches of rain set back in 1998. With multiple region wide flooding events occurring within throughout the first 4 months of the year, 2020 has also been the wettest four months on record in the region.
The Tri-Cities Airport has received 27.01 inches of rain since January 1st, breaking a record set back in 1994 when 23.99 inches of rain fell through April.
