THP: Three injured, two charged in Wednesday crash in Johnson County
Three people are hospitalized and two drivers face charges following a crash Wednesday evening in Johnson County.
Tennessee Highway Patrol reports Thomas Brewer, 44, of Butler, TN, was traveling north in a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer on State Route 167 near Roan Creek Road, when troopers say he drove across the center line in the south lane, causing a 1988 Chevrolet 2500 Pickup traveling south to move into the other lane to try and avoid the collision, but ended up being sideswiped by Brewer’s car.
The accident caused severe damage to the Chevy pickup, and its occupants, including driver Wayne Cook Jr., 59, of Butler, TN, and Ricky Farmer, were both taken to Johnson City Medical Center. Brewer was taken to a hospital in NC.
The incident remains under investigation.
