State Of Virginia Now Accepting New Applications For Solar PPA’s
The Virginia State Corporation Commission is announcing an important financing option for potential solar energy expansion into Southwest Virginia. The commission is re-opening acceptance of registrations for non utility owners of solar generation through Power Purchase Agreements or PPA’s. PPA’s will now be available to customers of Old Dominion Power for the first time. The utility serves 30 thousand customers in Southwest Virginia. Officials are hoping new policy changes related to solar energy will lead to a new solar energy market in the coalfield region of Southwest Virginia.
