Eastman Foundation pledges $1 million to COVID-19 relief

Eastman Chemical Company’s charitable foundation is set to donate $1 million to assist response organizations who are helping people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company said those funds will be earmarked for several improvement accounts including purchasing protective equipment for workers in front-line jobs and dollars to help families and residents offset the cost of food, rent, and utilities.

Some of the groups that will be helped that were named in the report include the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee and the Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency’s Community Services program.
