Free child care program for essential workers in TN extended through mid-August, more workers now eligible for program
A free child care program for essential workers in TN will continue through mid August and more groups of workers have become eligible to receive assistance.
The state department of human services says free pandemic child care now expands to those in religious, financial, hotel, and utility industries as covered in Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Order 22. The program includes payment assistance in addition to child care agencies currently open and accepting children of essential workers.
The department has also partnered with the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club organizations to provide childcare. Applications can be filled out online.
