Face Masks Must Be Worn In Public Places In Virginia Beginning Friday
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam owned up to his lack of using a mask as he met with beach goers over the weekend and said he would be better prepared next time. Beginning Friday, if you visit a restaurant or business in a public place in the Commonwealth you will be required to wear a face mask. Clark Mercer is the Governor’s Chief of Staff and says the Virginia Department of Health will have the authority to enforce the new measure.The Governor also says he plans to green light Northern Virginia to move into Phase One beginning this Friday. At that point all of Virginia will be under the directions of Phase Once reopening plans until data and science reports are available to guide decisions as to when other parts of the Commonwealth can move to Phase Two.
