Tennessee Teacher’s See Pay Raises Slashed
Teachers in Northeast Tennessee, who were betting on some type of raise from the state, more than likely, will not see that happen this year, due to massive state budget cuts. The state’s spending document called for 117 million dollars for those raises, but 58 million of that was cut in March due to the Coronavirus’ impact on budget figures. Now the remaining 58 million dollars for raises has been slashed as well, leaving teachers without funding for a state teacher increase in pay.
