Virginia Considers Adding Toll Booths to I-81 Corridor

Virginia is set to conduct a study after a house passed a bill earlier this year, directing the state to experiment with toll booths. The hope is that the revenue gained can go to much need improvements throughout the I-81 corridor. The Interstate of course passes through Southwest Virginia. Not all drivers will have to pay the tolls, which are expected to be established at high volume traffic areas. No word yet on how this will affect us locally, but as always we will keep you informed.
