TN Dept of Labor: Layoffs at Mariott MeadowView Convention Center “could last beyond six months”

A WARN notice filed with the TN Dept of Labor says temporary layoffs at the Mariott MeadowView Convention Center and Resort in Kingsport could last for longer than six months.

Information from the WARN notice says the layoffs at the hotel started in March and were intended to be temporary, but Mariott Hotel Services says “it is reasonably foreseeable that these temporary actions may extend beyond six months.”164 workers are being affected, and the company notified the state’s department of labor’s dislocated worker unit on Tuesday.
