Police: Church Hill stabbing suspect captured in FL

A man wanted out of Church Hill for an alleged stabbing at the Church Hill Inn in late April has been captured in Florida.

The Calhoun County, FL Sheriff’s Office says Daniel Powell was arrested yesterday after being pursued for several days by vehicle and foot by multiple agencies.

Police say he reportedly stole a vehicle. Church Hill have been searching for Powell since the night of April 28th after officers say he stabbed a victim several times at the hotel that has now been shut down following approval of a nuisance petition.

He faces several charges out of TN including attempted first degree murder and new charges out of Florida.
