Sullivan County Schools issue letter on progress of reopening plans for the 2020-21 school year
Education leaders in Sullivan County continue to work on reopening plans for the upcoming academic year.
In a letter to students and parents, the school system discussed several points of interests, one of which mentions potentially hosting a traditional graduation ceremony on the last day of July or the first day of August.
School officials also say because of the unknown conditions regarding COVID-19 in the coming months, they are weighing the three scenario option that includes full in-person learning, a combination of online and in-person classes, or full online learning.
The school system’s letter also touches on extracurricular activities, community use of school facilities, and the school calendar, all plans of which will be presented to the Board of Education in a meeting next month on July 9th.
Officials say within the next few days, parents and students will be invited to take a brief survey on specific reopening options.
