UPDATE: Completion of slope stabilization project in Hawkins County delayed

The Tennessee Department of Transportation announced the extension of construction on a road project located outside of Rogersville.

TDOT spokesperson Mark Nagi said a slope stabilization project on State Route 347 in Hawkins County has been extended past its original completion date of Friday due to more sites requiring excavation work.

The delay will result in that roadway remaining closed until Wednesday, June 24 and detours will remain in place on Webster Valley Road and Tunnel Hill Road.
