UPDATE: All 38 Scott’s Strawberry COVID-19 positive workers now recovered
All 38 Scott’s Strawberry and Tomato Farm employees that tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered.
An update issued Friday morning says all employees were field workers and never had any contact with Scott’s Farm Market in Unicoi. The company announced earlier this month of the positive tests, but through quarantining, have fully recovered.
“We’ve been farming for more than six decades. We take pride in our produce, and we are taking every precaution to keep our customers safe and give them an environment where they feel comfortable,” said President of Scott’s Farms Steve Scott.
Scott’s Farms continues to require all field workers to wear gloves and masks, while also conducting daily clinical screenings and temperature checks prior to each shift. Scott’s strawberry stands are also reopened to customers.
