Johnson City Police Arrest Man Asleep In Car He Allegedly Stole

Johnson City Police didn’t have to go far to catch a wanted felon after authorities found the man asleep in the car he allegedly stole out of Wise County Virginia. 30 year old Dereck M. Hicks was arrested after police located a white chevrolet Impala that had recently been stolen. Hicks was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and had active warrants out of Wise County in reference to the stolen vehicle. Hicks was scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon and is being housed at the Washington County Detention Center.
