Overall Crime Rates Drop In Tennessee…But Police Remain Busy In Tri Cities

Overall crime rates in Tennessee dropped during 2019 but according to a report from the TBI, local authorities in the three main localities of northeast Tennessee stayed busy. There were a total of just over nine thousand arrests in Bristol, Johnson City, and Kingsport during 2019. Crimes against society which includes drug offenses saw a total of more than 16 thousand reported incidents. There was also a total of one thousand six hundred and 35 cases of domestic violence reported in the Tri Cities during 2019 as well as five murders.
