Two juveniles transported to hospital following serious early morning crash on I-26 in Johnson City
Johnson City Police are investigating an early morning serious crash that has sent two juveniles to the hospital.
Police say they were called to an accident just before 3:00 a.m this morning on Interstate 26 near the Plymouth Road overpass. Officers say a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse was traveling west at a high rate of speed and lost control in a curve, going under steel cable barriers into the median before coming to rest on the interstate. Five juveniles were in the vehicle and police say one of them was ejected, receiving life-threatening injuries and is reported to be in critical condition.
Another passenger also received non-life threatening injuries. Charges are pending against the driver of the Eclipse and the investigation into the wreck is being conducted by the Johnson City Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Team.
