Scott Co.,VA Schools: Four different options being weighed for 2020-21 school reopening
Scott County, Virginia School officials have announced four possible plans as the 2020-21 school year approaches.
Plan A would have all students on site all week except for Wednesday which would be used as a deep cleaning and planning day. A survey sent to parents favored this option, with 54% preference. Plan B would have two groups of students on campus either Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday.
Plan C would use a hybrid option based on the level of the reopening phase that the state of Virginia is in. Phase 3 would have PreK-7th grade students follow plan A, while 8th-12th grade students would follow plan B. In Phase 2, PreK-3rd, Special Ed, and EL students would follow plan A, while 4th-12th grade students would follow plan D, which is set aside for a fully remote option that could be used if Virginia reverts back to Phase 1.
