Wise Co. School Board approves hybrid learning plan and delays start of 2020-21 school year
The Wise County, VA School Board has voted to delay the start of the 2020-21 academic year while also deciding on a plan for return to classes.
Wise County Schools will start back using a hybrid plan that will have one group attend classes in-person Monday and Tuesday, while another group will have in-person instruction Thursday and Friday. Wednesdays will be used for deep cleaning of school buildings, providing professional development, and support for remote learners. The remaining three days that students are not at school will be used for online instruction. Complete information on the hybrid plan is expected to be released soon.
The school board has also decided to delay the start of classes until August 20th. Options for complete remote learning is available.
