UPDATE: Suspects in Kingsport shooting surrender to police
The two suspects in a shooting incident at a city housing development last week have surrendered to officers.
A report from the Kingsport Police Department issued Tuesday evening said Dakota Shelton and a juvenile turned themselves in without incident.
Warrants were secured for Shelton, 19, and the 17-year-old stemming from a July 22 incident at Miller Village Apartments where two victims were injured. One male victim was shot while another was pistol-whipped according to investigators. Both have recovered from their injuries.
Shelton will now be arraigned on an attempted first-degree murder charge while the juvenile faces an assault charge.
