Town of Blacksburg to consider law limiting numbers on gatherings as Virginia Tech students arrive

Blacksburg officials will vote Tuesday on an emergency ordinance that aims to try and control the spread of the coronavirus as Virginia Tech students start to arrive on campus.

Town council members will consider restricting public and private gatherings to no more than 50 people and having restaurants and other establishments close at midnight for the next three months.

Religious meetings and events would be exempt from the law.
