Police: Greeneville man charged with aggravated assault after sword attack

A Greeneville man is facing an aggravated assault charge after police said he severely cut a neighbor with a sword during a domestic situation.

Patrick Stephens, 29, is also charged with domestic assault and public intoxication following the incident early Sunday at an apartment complex in the 700 block of Forest Street.

Eyewitnesses told investigators that one victim was being assaulted by Stephens when she called for the neighbor to contact police. Another victim was then struck in the arm with the sword.

Stephens is scheduled for arraignment in General District Court.
