Kingsport police searching for child sex suspect

UPDATE, 2:50 p.m.

The Kingsport Police Department announced just after 2:30 p.m. that Curtis Squires had been captured without incident.

The suspect will remain in the Kingsport City Jail pending his arraignment.

Kingsport police are searching for a suspect indicted last month on child sex charges.

Curtis D. Squires, 20, is classified as homeless although he has ties to both Sullivan and Unicoi counties.

Squires is charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor/distribution of child pornography following a year-long investigation, according to the report.

Squires is a white male standing 5 feet 7 inches tall weighing roughly 130 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Police are accepting anonymous tips in this case.
