Mask mandates extended in Greene, Hawkins counties due to virus

Two Northeast Tennessee localities issued continuation orders on declarations made last month to mandate residents wear masks as virus cases continue to remain steady.

Mayors in both Greene and Hawkins County issued those orders Wednesday ordering face coverings to be worn in most retail and restaurants establishments.

Greene County’s mask order is extended until Sept. 14 while Hawkins County has the mandate in place until Aug. 29.
