Police: Elizabethton man admits to sexual contact with kids while babysitting
A man in Elizabethton is jailed following a two-year state and local investigation into accusations of juveniles being raped in 2013.
An incident report from the Elizabethton Police Department said Brian Minnick was taken into custody after he admitted during his initial interview with an investigator last month to having sexual contact with the children while babysitting. He is officially charged with two counts of rape of a child and one count of aggravated rape.
The juveniles reportedly came forward in 2018 with the allegations about Minnick while the case was handled by the Department of Child Services. They originally spoke with police about him when one of the juvenile’s parents reported their story to law enforcement seven years ago.
