UPDATE: Father severely injured in Dickenson County, VA domestic shooting expected to make full recovery

A father injured in a domestic shooting incident Monday in Dickenson County, VA is expected to make a full recovery.

Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Mike Stidham told us Alton Rasnick, who sustained severe head injuries during a fight at a home in Clincho Monday morning, is currently in the ICU in Johnson City in stable condition. Sheriff Jeremy Fleming said Alton’s son Roy and James got into an argument that turned violent, with Roy reportedly attacking James, before James allegedly retrieved a gun and shot his brother multiple times.

The Sheriff’s Office is working on the case with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, and no charges or arrests have been made to this point.
