Johnson City BOE approves plan to return to in-person classes starting Aug. 31
Johnson City Schools have become the next school system to take the dive into returning to in-person classes amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Board of Education during a meeting Wednesday night unanimously approved a plan to allow classes to resume in person beginning Monday Aug. 31.
For PreK-6th grade students, they will be attending classes five days a week. The plan for 7th-12th grade students will be to attend on a hybrid schedule by alphabet, as students with last names A-K will go in-person Monday and Tuesday, while students with last names L-Z will go in-person Thursday and Friday.
The days students are not attending in-person will be used for remote learning. Complete information including the district’s updated protocols for in-person can be found here.
