Dog tethering during certain hours in Bristol, TN now illegal
The City of Bristol, TN is reminding residents it is now illegal to tether dogs during certain hours unless a permit is obtained.
In January, city council adopted an ordinance which prohibits residents from tying dogs up outdoors from 10 p.m to 6 a.m, except for those with a permit under certain circumstances like for individuals that work overnight or for those that own hunting or sporting dogs.
The ordinance took effect Aug. 1, and also prohibits tethering dogs less than six months old, females dogs in heat, and requires that all tethered dogs have access to things like adequate food, water, and shelter.
