Traffic gridlock on Interstate 81 in Greene County Friday morning was the result of a drunk driver, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report.
The three-vehicle crash occurred just before 7 am four miles outside of Bulls Gap when a car driven by Fransisco Vargas of Boone, NC, hit a guard rail then darted back into the second lane of traffic on 81 southbound.
That resulted in two more vehicles being involved in the crash including a tractor-trailer.
