TRAIN UPDATE: Norfolk Southern says derailed train was bound for Roanoke with mixed-freight load
Portions of three roadways continue to be affected by a train derailment in Washington County, Tennessee.
A report from Norfolk Southern Corporation says 10 cars came off the tracks just after 11 pm Sunday near Telford. No hazardous materials were on board the vehicle that was bound for Roanoke, Virginia after departing from Chattanooga.
The statement said no members of the train crew were injured and company crews have been dispatched to Telford to repair the route and resume normal operation.
County officials said Matthews Mill, Rauhof Road, and Washington College Station Road were impacted by the crash and detours are in place.
