Virginia State Police: Occupant of wrecked pickup truck found in Pound River dead at the scene

Preliminary details released by the Virginia State Police indicate they are trying to determine the time and date of a pickup truck crash that left one person dead.

The vehicle was not discovered until Saturday near the town of Clintwood just after 12:30 pm. The report says Timothy D. Smith, 20, was found dead at the scene which was located off Brush Creek Road.

Investigators said the truck was southbound when it went off the road, went down an embankment, then overturned into the Pound River.
