Wash. Co, VA Sheriff’s Office searching for suspect following pursuit on Monday

Police in Washington County, Virginia are searching for a suspect at large following a multi-state pursuit on Monday.

Sheriff Blake Andis says they spotted Trevis Dion Lightfoot, 27, near the Shell gas station at Exit 19 in a white car. Lightfoot is wanted on felony charges out of Bristol, VA. Police tried to make contact with the man before he fled on foot, starting a footchase through several fields before Lightfoot stole a truck.

A vehicle pursuit went through Abingdon, Interstate 81, and into Bristol, TN until the truck became disabled. Lightfoot fled on foot and was able to get away despite a canine search. Police say due to Lightfoot’s past with stolen vehicles, firearms, narcotics, and body armour, the US Marshals Service is helping in the search.

He is facing additional charges in the incident, and if you see him, call 911.
