Police: Homeless man charged at Kingsport cop with baseball bat
A homeless Kingsport man remains jailed on a $17,000 bond for charging a city policeman with a baseball bat in an early Tuesday morning encounter.
William S. Larkins, 48, had been making a loud disturbance near a home on Oak Street and was also spotted chasing another person with the bat when officers arrived just after 1 a.m.
The report said Larkins came at the officers then threw down the bat. He then got into a fighting stance as the policemen eventually placed him in cuffs.
Larkins is charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
