NEW: Boswell attorney files motion for change of venue in her case
The attorney for the mother of deceased toddler Evelyn Boswell has filed a motion for a change of venue.
Megan Boswell appeared in a Sullivan County Courtroom Friday morning for the first time since being indicted on 19 charges, including two counts of felony murder in the death of her 15-month old daughter. Boswell pleaded not guilty to all charges, and her Attorney Brad Sproles filed for a pair of motions during her arraignment, including the change of venue motion.
The state is also deciding whether to pursue further punishment in her case. Boswell has been in jail since Feb. as she was arrested on a charge of false reports while local and state investigators searched for the missing toddler.
The state’s consideration and the defense’s motion will be reviewed at a court hearing scheduled for December 3rd at 1:30 p.m.
