Virginia Announces Four Million Dollar Fund For Virginians Facing Evictions
Residents in Southwest Virginia facing evictions due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic may have some assistance on the way. On Monday, Governor Ralph Northam announced four million dollars in funding for the Legal Services Corporation of Virginia. The funds will be used to support 20 legal aid attorneys in providing services to Virginia tenants facing eviction for the next two years. The Governor says he will match a two million dollar donation with two million more from Virginia’s COVID-19 Relief Fund, approved by the General Assembly in April.
