Study: Tennessee, Virginia ranks among top 15 in hardest working states in the U.S.
A recent study from WalletHub finds Tennessee and Virginia to be among the hardest working states in the country.
The website’s 2020 study used ten different metrics to determine results, including average workweek hours, share of workers with multiple jobs, and annual volunteer hours per resident.
The study also concluded that Americans are working an average of close to 1,780 hours per year, with only 54% of workers using available vacation time. Virginia ranked as the 8th hardest working state, while Tennessee ranked 15th.
North Dakota, Alaska, and Wyoming took the top three spots in the report.
