TVA: Boone Lake levels to rise by two feet per week beginning the week of Oct. 15
Boone Lake levels are expected to rise beginning in mid-October.
In its September newsletter, the Tennessee Valley Authority announced it would raise the levels of the lake to manage vegetation near the water line which will improve safety for boaters and visitors at the lake. Current lake levels are estimated at 1,350 feet, but beginning the week of Oct. 15, levels will rise two feet per week until mid-November where it will hold at around 1,360 feet through next March.
The TVA is encouraging community members to remove any docks or temporary materials that sit below those levels along the shoreline in anticipation of the raising of water levels next month.
